Course Overview: The course explains how to configure and manage a MED-V deployment. Then, it describes the procedures for deploying an App-V solution by implementing App-V servers and clients and by sequencing applications.

Who Should Attend: This course is intended for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 system and desktop administrators who will manage and implement desktop and application virtualization technologies within their networks. Course Overview:This course teaches students how to implement and manage Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V. It also teaches students how to manage Hyper-V with Solution Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) and with PowerShell.

Who Should Attend: The primary audience for this course is Microsoft Windows Server 2008 system administrators who will manage and implement Server Virtualization technologies within their network. The students for this course are responsible for virtualizing their current servers, or have been requested or directed by their information technology (IT) management to research and/or implement server virtualization in the existing environment. They should have a minimum of 1.5 years of experience working with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 as a server administrator. Prior experience with virtualization is not expected. However, familiarity with virtualization concepts and management tools is highly recommended.

After completing this course, students will be able to:


  • Install and configure Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V.
  • Understand Hyper-V Virtual Networking.
  • Understand the types of Virtual Hard Drives and their benefits.
  • Create and manage Virtual Machines on the Hyper-V server.
