FAQs


What if I need to cancel? If you find that you can't attend a class for which you have a confirmed seat please contact your Account Executive immediately. With an Applications Class we require 5 or more business days notice to cancel an enrollment in the class without penalty. With a Technical Class we require 10 or more business days notice to cancel an enrollment in a technical class.

Why is being on time so important? At New Horizons almost all of our classes are very 'hands-on' and 'task-oriented'. Each topic covered builds on the previous topic. For this reason it is very important that everyone be on time for the start of the class and so we ask that our students please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the class. Please call us if you are going to be late! If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you must receive approval from the Training Manager before entering class.

What does it mean to be a stand-by student? Typically with each class there are students without a confirmed seat that show-up each morning hoping to take the seat of a confirmed student who doesn't show up. In order to accommodate these unconfirmed students, we typically wait for 15 minutes after the start of a class before filling the open seats with stand-by students. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late without notifying us, please be aware that we may give your seat to a stand -by student.

What should I wear to class? Please dress comfortably. You will be working at a computer throughout the day and we want you to be as comfortable as possible. You may want to bring a jacket or a sweater as the room temperature may vary.

What time is our lunch break? Lunch is from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm. Attached to your confirmation email is a list of fast food places on Page Avenue and you are more than welcome to bring your own lunch as we do have a refrigerator and a microwave for our students to use.

I'm a repeat student - what should I do? If you're repeating a course, bring the courseware manual or technical kit that you received in your initial class. A new manual or technical kit will not be issued to a repeating student.

What happens if I don't show up for my class - and I didn't cancel? If you cancel a scheduled technical class less than 10 business days prior to the start date, or do not show up for class on the start date, you will be assessed a $200.00 cancellation fee. If you cancel a scheduled applications class less than 5 business days prior to the start date, or do not show up for class on the start date, you will be assessed a $50.00 cancellation fee. All cancellation fees must be paid before you may attend future classes. Refunds for payments (minus penalty) made by cash, check, or money order will be mailed within 30 calendar days; refunds for payments made by credit card will be issued to the appropriate credit card within 30 calendar days.

How do I pay for my class? All classes are prepaid. If your company has purchased national coupons please make sure you present the required number of national coupons with you upon arrival for your scheduled class. If your company has purchased local coupons purchased from New Horizons St. Louis your coupons will be processed electronically by your account executive.
