Linux Certification

Linux Certification TampaLinux is a free, open source, Unix-based operating system originally created by Linus Torvalds with the assistance of developers around the world. Developed under the GNU General Public License, the source code for Linux is freely available to everyone. The benefits of this operating system are allowing it rapid growth in business as companies look to cut costs and experiment with new alternatives to proprietary software. The acceptance of Linux in a variety of businesses shows the power of this operating system.

New Horizons Tampa Linux certification training will help you master the skills you need for operating a Linux environment.  New Horizons Linux training maps to the several leading vendor-neutral Linux certifications CompTIA Linux+ Certifcation, Novell Certified Linux Professional with SUSE Linux and Red Hat Certifications. Today, organizations are looking for Linux professionals to help take advantage of the Linux operating system in their business and our Linux training will help you prepare to meet the needs of these companies.

CompTIA Linux+ Certification

Linux+ certification is an international industry credential that validates the knowledge of individuals with at least six months of practical Linux experience.  Professionals who want to certify their technical knowledge in basic installation, operation, administration and troubleshooting for Linux operating systems should consider this certification.

Novell Certified Linux Professional (CLP) with SUSE Linux

With the Novell Certified Linux Professional (CLP), students gain the essential skills required to log in to a multi-user Linux environment, navigate the SUSE Linux Server, and achieve your SUSE Linux Certification.

Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT)
An RHCT has proven technician-level competencies required to install, attach, configure, and manage new Red Hat systems on an existing production network. RHCTs are capable of performing the core system administration common to all systems, regardless of whether they are workstations, servers, network devices, or some other kind of system. The RHCT is an ideal initial certification for those transitioning from non-UNIX®/ Linux environments.

Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
RHCE proves an individual's ability to configure networking services and security on servers running a Red Hat OS. Red Hat Certified Engineer certification began in 1999 and has been earned by more than 20,000 Linux experts.

Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS)
An RHCSS has RHCE security knowledge plus specialized skills in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat Directory Server and SELinux to meet the security requirements of today's enterprise environments. Additional specialization in Identity Management is also available. RHCSS is Red Hat's newest certification, and the only one of its kind.

Red Hat Certified Datacenter Specialist (RHCDS)
An RHCDS has the skills and knowledge necessary to build reliable, available, scalable, and manageable solutions in mission-critical datacenter environments using fully-supported open source technologies from Red Hat.  These courses in the RHCDS track build on system administration skills covered in the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) program, which is a prerequisite for the RHCDS certification.

Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)
RHCEs who seek advanced training can enroll in Enterprise Architect courses and prove their competency with Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification. RHCA encapsulates many of the security-related competencies taught in the RHCSS program.
