The MCSE: Data Platform certification candidate must earn the SQL Server 2012 MCSA, and then pass two additional exams.

Holders of an MCITP: Database Developer 2008 or MCITP: Database Administrator 2008 certification may upgrade to an MCSE: Data Platform certification by passing the following three exams:
