Security+ Certification

Security+ is a vendor-neutral security certification program that enables individuals to acquire the initial skills needed to become an Information Security Professional.  Security+ is geared towards individuals who are new to Information Security and are seeking a wide breadth of fundamental security knowledge.

New Horizons Security+ course is a five-day course that will prepare an IT Professional to pass the Security+ exam. This exam validates their mastery of the fundamental skills and knowledge needed by an Information Security Professional:

•  General Security Concepts
•  Communication Security
•  Infrastructure Security
•  Basics of Cryptology
• Operational and Organizational Security

Security+ certified IT Professionals are proficient in a wide range of security concepts, including access control, authentication, and external attack. They also are familiar with operational and organizational security and the basics of cryptography.
