The Samsung SUR40 now available for consumers

Samsung Electronics America recently announced it is showcasing its SUR40 for Microsoft Surface at the National Retail Federation conference on January 16 and 17th at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

"With the availability of the Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft Surface, Samsung is energizing the retail space and anticipates an all-new approach to customer engagement," said Todd Bouman, vice president of product marketing of the enterprise business division at Samsung Electronics America.

The Samsung SUR40 product is the result of a collaboration between Samsung and Microsoft designed to give those with IT careers a new tool to improve efficiency in the workplace. The 40-inch full HD LCD can be used in a number of ways, including mounted on a wall or as a table.

Microsoft Surface technology was created to combine direct interaction and together computing, which allows for collaboration on the device. The new device's PixelSense technology allows users to touch the surface at 50 points simultaneously, and still receive responses for each individual touch.

The Samsung SUR40 product is 4 inches thin, making it extremely versatile and modern-looking.
