Businesses in Canada look to bring in new IT staff in 2012

Randstad Technologies and IBM Canada recently surveyed a number of Canadian business executives to get a better understanding of the IT hiring market in 2012 and found there are many areas of strong demand for top technology talent throughout the country.

The survey showed 41 percent of survey respondents plan to remain consistent with their IT staffing in the new year, while 49 percent plan to add more IT careers to their IT teams in 2012.

Nearly half of respondents plan to bring on new staff this  year to perform upgrades and refreshes, and 37 percent want to add more employees to improve internal company integration.

"The markets that we've seen the most upswings in recently are the financial services and banking sector, as well as government," said Mike Winterfield, president of Randstad Technologies. "In terms of the types of roles that are in high-demand right now, we have seen a notable increase in companies looking to hire business analysts, web developers, and different infrastructure support type roles."

According to IT World Canada, the North American country is seeing a rise in other IT careers. Mobile app developers, BI analysts and enterprise architects are a winning job title for IT professionals in Canada.

The website said these new IT careers will help companies work in the cloud, a technology that has become widely adopted among businesses around the globe.
