A brief history of New Horizons
For the past 30 years our innovative, award-winning learning methods have revolutionized the way students learn, retain and apply new knowledge.
The National Center for Women and Information Technology and Bank of America recently recognized 35 female high school students with the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing. The goal of the award is to encourage more women to pursue careers in computing and technology through IT training and college coursework.Winners of the award received $500, a laptop computer, an engraved award and an internship opportunity with Bank of America. The students will also be honored at a ceremony in North Carolina in March."This award helps make opportunity possible for the next wave of entrepreneurs and innovators," said Amy Brady, executive at Bank of America. "These young ladies represent our industry's future, and it's exciting to be able to contribute to their professional growth."The NCWIT is also working with Indiana University and a group of corporate sponsors called Indiana STARS to award young women in the information technology field throughout the state of Indiana. The coalition is recognizing 19 young women in Indiana who have demonstrated outstanding aptitude and interest in technology and computer, and plan to continue their IT training and education in college.
