Cisco and Proximetry partner on new dynamic smart grid solution

In an effort to cater the needs of the Field Area Network GridBlocks with AirSync, Cisco and Proximetry have joined forces to improve their smart grid solutions.

"As a key member of the Connected Grid ecosystem in the Cisco Developer Network, AirSync extends the visibility in the Field Area Network GridBlocks with unique performance management capabilities," said Jennifer Lin, senior director of product marketing of connected energy networks BU for Cisco.

Helping Cisco and Proximetry deploy these smart gird solutions is the recently released Cisco CGR 1240, which takes advantage of renewable energy solutions, electric vehicles and storage solutions.

IT professionals with the Cisco training to deploy smart grid solutions will have the opportunity to claim these difficult IT jobs.

A recent study conducted by Market Strategies International for the Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative has found that consumers are seeing the appeal of smart grids in many ways.

According to the study that asked participants to rate the importance of seven potential benefits of smart grid and smart meters, consumers are most excited about the cost savings and greater power reliability offered by smart grid solutions.
