According to the Florida Times-Union, Jacksonville may be the new hot place to find IT careers, due to the growth of many firms in the area."Most of the folks we work with in-depth view Jacksonville as up and coming," Chad Perce, CEO of an IT company in Jacksonville, told the newspaper. "There’s another contingent that is surprised there’s as much IT in Jacksonville as there is. The IT community is very healthy."Perce told the paper his company currently has 75 employees, and he expects that number to grow to nearly 200 by the end of the year. His company has recruited IT professionals from all across the United States and as far as California.According to a recent report by Modis, Jacksonville ranked as the ninth best city in the country to find an IT job, with opportunities for IT professionals to gain employment in health care, the financial sector, insurance, logistics and transportation.Chad Moyer, president of Modis, told the Florida Times-Union that in recent years many companies located in the north have moved to Jacksonville, which is causing the rise in available IT jobs in the city.
