Online Live Technical Requirements

The New Horizons Online LIVE® learning environment consists of our online classroom and many courses include an online lab component. Both are accessed seamlessly through our online web based learning management system. Before your course begins your local center will reach out to you and ensure your system is properly configured.

For the best experience we recommend students computer systems include:

  • A modern computer (>1Ghz) running Windows Vista or Windows 7
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or higher
  • A Cable, DSL or WAN Internet Connection (greater than 1Mb speed)
  • A display capable of 1280X1024 pixel resolution

  • 1GHz processor with >1 GB RAM
  • Microsoft Windows XP(SP3), Vista or 7
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 (or higher)

                      OR
    Chrome 10.0 (or higher)
  • Sound Enabled with Headphones
  • Sun Java 1.5.0_17 or greater (use current)
