A brief history of New Horizons
For the past 30 years our innovative, award-winning learning methods have revolutionized the way students learn, retain and apply new knowledge.
As virtualization technology becomes a mainstream tool in data centers, network service providers such as Cisco Systems are updating their products to support and enhance server virtualization.Cisco's data center architecture is built around its Cisco Unified Services platform. Cisco has created two new features to support virtualization - Cisco Virtual Security Gateway, an appliance that creates security protocols over a virtual server or a VLAN network, and Cisco virtual Wide Area Application Services, a utility for distributing applications over virtualized machines.Beyond improving the Unified Services program, Cisco will also be equipping its Unified Fabric architecture to handle virtualized environments. Cisco's new FabricPath technology allows data center networks to handle almost double the port density previously possible by meeting the Transparent Interconnection of Lots of Links standard.Recently, ComputerWorld ran the new FabricPath technology through a series of tests. They sent a variety of trials at a FabricPath data center network, testing its ability to handle bandwidth, reroute troublesome signals and simplify network management. FabricPath was successful in all three trials.According to ComputerWorld, Cisco's product is the first TRILL standard system to reach production, giving the company a clear edge as businesses work to upgrade their data centers to match the explosion of information experienced by companies on a daily basis.
