A brief history of New Horizons
For the past 30 years our innovative, award-winning learning methods have revolutionized the way students learn, retain and apply new knowledge.
The Lansing School District in Kansas recently ordered 200 iPads that will be distributed to science classrooms in the Lansing Middle School, in an effort to increase the use of technology to enhance learning. All educators and IT professionals should invest in similar computing training to learn best practices for leveraging technology to improve education. The Leavenworth Times reported the school district is hoping to make it easier for students and teachers to access information and online resources with the mobile devices. The school hopes to promote interaction between students, educators and remotely located experts and tools. Through the use of mobile technology, the students can seek out in-depth content on a variety of topics, which will likely help to spur creativity and learning.Three businesses in North Dakota are also getting attention for their technology activities. The Information Council of North Dakota recently awarded three businesses for their outstanding success in developing or providing IT business solutions to customers in the state. The awards were given out during the annual North Dakota IT symposium in Fargo, Inforum reported. One award recipient, Matti Kon, owner and CEO of InfoTech, was honored for his company's promotion and use of technology in the academic realm. InfoTech's IT support and services helped connect North Dakota residents to information and solutions that were lacking, Inforum reported.
