New Office 365 capabilities

Microsoft recently announced it will update Office 365 Plan K with three new capabilities in March. Therefore, it is important for companies to offer IT training on the new updates for all employees using the software.

Windows IT Pro reported the first update is an increase in mailbox quota from 250MB to 500MB for Exchange Online. Next, Microsoft will allow administrators to purchase Exchange archiving capabilities for Plan K users, so they can hold on to emails. Finally, users will be able to use ActiveSync, rather than just POP3 access for use of the software on mobile devices. With ActiveSync, users will have free connectivity for mobile devices for email, calendar and contacts.

In addition, OnLive expanded its cloud offerings with the new virtual Microsoft Windows 7 desktop and Office 365 applications for tablet users. PC Magazine reported OnLive licensed Windows and its Office 365 suite allowing users to work from their tablets as if they were on their desktop computers. Employees can use a Bluetooth keyboard or the tablet keyboard while working on documents and communications, and navigate through the rest of the applications with touchscreen capabilities.
