Microsoft develops Azure security services

In conjunction with Panda Security, Microsoft recently developed a cloud-based antivirus security service for Windows Azure. The security solution is cloud-based and therefore can protect data from any device, anywhere. Companies should offer IT training so employees understand how to use the solution most effectively.

The security solution will be hosted on Windows Azure, which is designed to house, scale and manage web applications. Azure will use a set of privacy and security controls with the solution to ensure maximum protection of data, applications and communications on the device. Users can download a free version of the security solution online.

The benefits of using the cloud-based security solution include reducing the time to deploy a new product version, lowering operation and maintenance costs by up to 30 percent and improving certification and quality assurance processes.

According to Business Cloud 9, when using Windows Azure, or other cloud-based platforms, it is important for companies to select an application that can deliver all requirements for a business. If a company has many users on a single network, a data isolation strategy can enable better consolidation of data. If a company has a small number of users, separate server models or databases can be effectively deployed throughout its network.
