Course Overview
This five-day Cisco Unified Communications Manager administration course provides a comprehensive, hands-on approach to deploying, managing, securing, and troubleshooting enterprise voice and collaboration environments. The curriculum begins with advanced CUCM management tasks such as bulk administration, phone migrations, self-provisioning, OS-level tools, COP file management, and disaster recovery, establishing a strong operational foundation. User administration is covered in depth, including roles, groups, access control, device association, and best practices to ensure secure and consistent user management at scale.
The course then focuses on endpoint deployment and call processing, guiding learners through planning, registering, securing, and troubleshooting IP phones, softphones, and video endpoints. Participants gain practical experience designing and implementing dial plans, call routing logic, calling privileges, time-based routing, and bandwidth-aware features such as CAC and AAR. Media resources, gateways, and SIP trunks are explored in detail to ensure high-quality voice and video services, while extensive labs reinforce real-world troubleshooting of call routing, media quality, and gateway connectivity.
Security, compliance, and resiliency are emphasized throughout the course, with dedicated modules on certificate management, encryption, fraud prevention, auditing, and the CUCM Disaster Recovery System. The curriculum concludes with administration of Cisco Unity Connection, covering voicemail integration, call handlers, unified messaging, monitoring, and recovery. By the end of the course, participants are equipped to operate and maintain a secure, resilient, and feature-rich Cisco Unified Communications environment supporting enterprise collaboration requirements.
