Herschel Miller

Herschel Miller
Instructor

I teach office applications for Microsoft and Adobe, SQL and VBA programming, and IT Fundamentals. I also teach business skills classes including Managerial Leadership, and Organizational Skills. My specialties are Excel Analytics and Database development. I enjoy teaching at New Horizons because there is never a dull moment. There is always something new to learn or improve in. Also, there is great joy in helping people to achieve their goals and feel impowered to advance their careers. I live by the motto "People don't care how much you know, they need to know how much you care." In other words, while knowledge is obviously important, knowledge alone does not make a great teacher. We must really care about people to constantly improve as teachers. Our goal is not to show how smart we are but to really help people improve their lives. Sit back, relax and enjoy your stay at New Horizons! What I enjoy about teaching at New Horizons is that there is never a dull moment. Each day I meet new faces all with various concerns and problems they are dealing with. Being able to help people feel more confident to face their challenges is fulfilling to me and I can see that by the end of the day they really appreciate the effort I put forth to help them.

"What I enjoy about teaching at New Horizons is that there is never a dull moment."
