Chuck Moore, Technical Instructor

Chuck Moore, Technical Instructor
Instructor

With more than 25 years of computer experience including help desk support, computer instruction, and network administration, Chuck Moore wears several hats at New Horizons of Richmond, Virginia. He’s the center’s IT Supervisor, Training Manager and an active instructor specializing in IT Security. Chuck has been with New Horizons for over 15 years. He takes great pride in delivering outstanding classes regardless of the complexity of the subject matter. Chuck began his teaching career as an Applications/Graphic Design Instructor, quickly acquiring numerous IT certifications. Before joining New Horizons, Chuck worked as a Designer and IT Specialist.

Facts & Hobbies:

Already inducted into the EC-Council Circle of Excellence for outstanding instruction, he participated in the FBI’s Citizens Academy due to his outstanding scholarship and achievements in the field of CyberSecurity in 2014. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Computer Art and Art History from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Married with two children, he serves his church and pursues acting, music & more.

Daniel Claycomb, Technical Instructor

Daniel Claycomb, Technical Instructor
Instructor

A Kentucky native, Daniel Claycomb brings more than 11 years of real-world experience as a LAN administrator into his classrooms. He is certified and teaches CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA and Certified Ethical Hacker classes. Prior to joining New Horizons of Richmond, Virginia in 2016 as a technical instructor, Daniel served as a Civil Service Mariner and in the U. S. Navy for 27 years including as a Master Training Specialist, Navy Instructor, and Facilitator and IT instructor. As an Instructional Designer with Intelligence Decision System Inc., he developed interactive training courses supporting the Army Knowledge Online web portal.

Facts & Hobbies::

Daniel is nominated for induction into the Certified Ethical Hacker “Hall of Fame 2021,” honoring only the CEH candidates that have scored 90% or better on the exam. He finds joy teaching IT classes and helping those new to IT to become successful IT professionals. He also codes in Python in his spare time. He holds a Bachelor of Science with a Workforce, Education and Curriculum Development degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Steve Fenick, Technical Instructor
Instructor

Steve has been part of the New Horizons team for nearly 14 years, having served as an Applications Instructor, Technical Instructor, and Training Manager for the Richmond and Washington D.C. locations. When he is not in the classroom, Steve is the Center’s Operations Manager. Inside the classroom, Steve’s areas of expertise include F5 Networks, Cisco networking, Windows client and server operating systems, information security, project management, and data analytics. He is also proud to be a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1993 – 2001.

Facts and Hobbies::

In his spare time, Steve loves spending time with his family, playing chess, and learning new languages. He is also an active musician, and performs frequently in the Richmond area. Steve has been a member of Mensa International for nearly twenty years. He holds both a Master of Music from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of North Carolina.
