John Warner

John Warner
Instructor

John, an Applications and Business Skills Instructor, got his first computer in 1986 (a dual-floppy 8088!) After working with computers and the nascent internet (Mosaic browser, newsgroups, etc.) at school, he taught Applications and Networking for New Horizons from 1997-2003. “There are some REALLY good trainers out there, and so many different approaches that I don’t know if I do anything different from them. I attempt to synthesize bits from many trainers that work well into a presentation that (I hope) provides added value to the students who want to learn more about a particular software.” -- John's training philosophy

Jeff Zahorowski

Jeff Zahorowski
Instructor

Jeff joined New Horizons in 2000 and has over 25 years of experience within the IT field. His passion is making a difference in his students’ lives through education and training. In his mind, education is the gift that keeps on giving. He attributes his success in the classroom to his years of competing in extemporaneous and impromptu speech in high school. His years of working in a university radio station honed his presentation style into what it is today.

John DeVries

John DeVries
Instructor

John began his career with New Horizons 14 years ago in Tampa, Florida before he moved west to join the team in Sacramento, California. Prior to joining New Horizons, he worked for other 30 years as a product and marketing manager within the computer and data communications industries. He had his own web design and consulting business. As a trainer, John focuses on developing a clear understanding of underlying principles, rather than just the “tips and tricks”. He believes students who leave his class with a strong fundamental model of how a technology works can always extend their skills through further practice. His years of experience within various industries have provided him with the real-world knowledge to bolster the theoretical content of his courses.

Ed Gans

I grew up in the Chicago area and received my B.S. from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. After living in Austin, Texas, Southern California and Montana, my wife and I decided to move to Sacramento to be closer to her extended family of 200 relatives in the Bay Area and start our own family. I began my New Horizons of Sacramento Senior Account Executive career in 1996 as my first position in Sacramento. After serving the needs of the military in Southern California where I operated concessions at the Base and Post Exchanges through AAFES, my first calls at New Horizons were to Travis and Beale Air Force Bases. I have been working with the military and then the State of California at New Horizons ever since!
