Gabe Chapa
Instructor
As a former New Horizons student, Gabe can relate to students’ experiences better than most. He prefers to utilize both theoretical and real-world examples in his classes to produce a well-rounded experience for his students. “My favorite part of instructing is seeing the “a-ha” moment when a student gets it,” Gabe states. He knows that classes can be a bit of an improvisation game when it comes to questions so he remains ready for anything, and knows that the way he sets up the class creates a relaxed and informative environment that leads to the highest levels of student satisfaction.

Eddie Gonzalez
Instructor
That is the first selfie I've ever taken. We've come a long way in technology from when I was my kids' age. I remember one of my first jobs was for the City of Anaheim through the Junior Training Partnership Act (JTPA). One summer in high school I worked at City Hall for the Fire Authority, and the next summer I worked for the Housing Department for City of Anaheim. This was not only my first exposure to working in government, but it also got me really interested in working with computers. (Of course I was introduced to computers in elementary, but this was something beyond playing Oregon Trail!) After high school, I had a few setbacks, but I got back on track when I attended a learning center, similar to New Horizons. I paid my own money to learn Microsoft Office, Windows NT, Netware, A+. I then set out to start my career as an IT professional.

"Thank you for your guidance and suggestion on the Microsoft Office and Project Management Certifications that I was able to get funded by the Orange County One Stop Center in Garden Grove. You not only advised me to pursue this program based on my interests, you also kept up with the progress of my education. I recalled you sat outside of the classroom as each student came out, waiting the result of their Black Belt exam. As each of us head the result, you cheered and congratulated each one of us. I was really impressed with how much you cared about each of your students."

"Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program at New Horizons. The instruction and subject material was extremely effective. The instructor was one of the best instructor’s that I have had the pleasure to be associated within my 30+ years of corporate provided and external instruction. The instructor walked-the-talk with her extensive background in Lean Six Sigma and she shares that in-depth knowledge with those in her class. The course material has not only been developed for the classroom environment, but also as a valuable reference tool to assist our new Green and Black Belts in implementing and managing projects for their business units. I am now an accomplished Lean Six Sigma Green Belt graduate. I am excited for my future enrollment in the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in November."

"The approximately 60 staff registered for the training had very busy and divergent project schedules and were not able to commit to being outside the office for days at a time. To accommodate their schedules the able advisors and instructors at New Horizons, including yourself, developed a customized the training program, consisting of a highly flexible three tiered curriculum which divided the training into several separate classes of two sessions each spread over a two month period. The first tier of the program was presented in-house at our facility utilizing laptop computers provided by New Horizons, all at our convenience. This consisted of training in the use of the latest version of Projects in creating, tracking and reporting project schedules. The training was delivered effectively and seamlessly with the expert tutelage of your instructor who understood the needs of a design and construction organization. The training included examples fit to the experience and expertise of our staff."
