Red Hat System Administration I (RH124) is the first course in Red Hat’s core system administration training track, designed for IT professionals without previous Linux experience. This lab-based course provides students with Linux administration skills by focusing on core administration tasks, such as managing files, controlling services, and configuring Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers.

RH124 provides a foundation for students who plan to become full-time Linux system administrators and is the first step toward earning the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) credential. The journey continues with Red Hat System Administration II (RH134).

This course is based on Red Hat® Enterprise Linux 10.0.

15 - Monitoring and Managing Linux Processes

  • Investigate, control, and terminate processes that run on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system.

16 - Controlling Services and Daemons

  • Control and monitor the system services and daemons that systemd starts.

17 - Introduction to Networking

  • Describe basic TCP/IP networking concepts and investigate the current network configuration and functionality on a server.

18 - Managing Network Configuration

  • Configure network interfaces and settings on Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers.

19 - Configuring and Securing SSH

  • Protect SSH communication by managing host keys and by implementing key-based authentication for users.
