Course Overview

This four-day course series prepares students to modernize, manage, and observe their containerized applications using Kubernetes in Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, and on-premises. Through presentations and hands-on labs, participants explore Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Connect Agent, Anthos Service Mesh, and Anthos Config Management features. Participants learn how to work with containerized applications even when the applications are split between multiple clusters, hosted by multiple cloud providers, or on-premises. This course is a continuation of Architecting with GKE and assumes direct experience with the technologies covered in that course.

Course Objectives

  • Explain each layer of the Anthos technology stack and the problems it is designed to address.
  • Create, connect, and manage Anthos clusters from multiple deployment environments.
  • Load-balance clusters running in Google Cloud.
  • Describe automating policy and security at scale with Config Management.
  • Create multi-cluster networking architectures with Anthos Service Mesh.
  • Deploy and run applications on an Anthos on-premises solution.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot applications running on an Anthos on-premises solution.
  • Install workloads on Cloud Run and Cloud Run for Anthos.
  • Configure and review logging, metrics, and monitoring for serverless computing solutions on Anthos.
  • Install and use Migrate for Anthos to migrate workloads.

What is Architecting Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure with Anthos?

This course focuses on deploying and managing hybrid environments using Google Cloud technologies such as GKE, Istio, and Anthos Config Management. It’s part of the hybrid cloud infrastructure with Anthos learning path and prepares learners to build resilient, multi-cluster systems across on-premises and cloud deployments.

How does this course help with multi-cluster management?

You’ll learn to deploy and control traffic across clusters using service mesh and centralized policy enforcement. Tools like Google Kubernetes Engine, Anthos GKE, and Istio help you observe and manage services that span multiple clusters across both on-premises and cloud platforms.

Is this a continuation of other Google Cloud training?

Yes. It builds directly on Architecting with Google Kubernetes Engine and assumes familiarity with core concepts and tools, making it ideal for professionals continuing their GCP journey.

Does this course include hands-on labs?

Yes. Through structured hands-on labs, you’ll configure service mesh, enforce policies, and monitor applications across distributed clusters using GKE, Istio, and other Google Cloud services.

How does this training help with application scalability?

You’ll learn to architect scalable hybrid environments by combining policy automation with service mesh patterns, allowing teams to manage complexity and improve resilience across GCP and on-premises systems.
