CompTIA Security+ Certification Training Information
The Security+ certification is earned by passing a single exam. The CompTIA Security+ certification exam is made up of five “domains.” The domains included and the percentage of each on the Security+ examination are:
- 1.0 Attacks, Threats, and Vulnerabilities 24%
- 2.0 Architecture and Design 21%
- 3.0 Implementation 25%
- 4.0 Operations and Incident Response 16%
- 5.0 Governance, Risk, and Compliance 14%
The Security+ exam (SY0-601) includes a maximum of 90 multiple-choice and performance-based questions (PBQs). A score of 750 (on a scale of 100-900) is required to pass.
The Security+ certification is valid for a three-year period. To maintain the certification, it must be renewed every three years.
